The University Heights Tool Library is looking for volunteers to join the crew and maintain regular hours at the storefront, located on 5 W. Northrup Place in the heart of the University District neighborhood. We are a community nonprofit tool-lending library that provides community members access to over 2,000 tools for a small annual fee. Aside from being the neighborhood keeper of tools, your volunteer hours will be spent interacting with members, lending tools in and out, cataloging and inventorying new tools, and ensuring the general day to day maintenance of the shop.
Typically, volunteers staff a two to four hour block of time at the storefront, and can participate in any of our organized community service events if they desire (tree plantings, neighborhood clean-ups, community gardening, etc.). Knowledge of tools is preferred, but not required. Familiarity using computer software (Google Drive, Gmail, and our lending software, MyTurn) is required.
