Accessible Academics

Accessible Academics is a not-for-profit agency that advocates for inclusion and supports people with disabilities to become independent. Vision Statement We will: Provide services accessible to all locally & Leverage technology to reach service deserts around the nation Core Values: Inclusivity, Accessibility, Integrity, Advocacy, & Giving our Students Agency History: Accessible Academics was founded in 2016 by CEO, Azure Showers. Azure worked at a program that supported college students with disabilities. The program moved out of Buffalo and students needed to drop their courses to follow the program. Azure started Accessible Academics to help her students stay in school - and they all graduated! With the help of staff and volunteers, Accessible Academics has grown to serve over 30 students a year with coaching and hundreds more with their workshop programs.

We provide coaching services and workshops to youth and adults with disabilities. We help them find success in school, career, and independent living. Our students pursue their GED, college, trade school, or online training in order to build skills and credentials to enter their chosen career. We offer free Creative Arts and Animation workshops to teens and young adults. We also provide tutoring for high school, GED, and college students in our Learning Lab held at a community college.
