Who We Are
At United Way of Buffalo & Erie County, we immerse ourselves fully into the work that we do because we care deeply about our communities. We show up to do what matters and what’s most necessary for our community. Our hands-on approach to making a real difference is critical to ending the cycle of hardship that we know affects 40% of Erie County families.
By forging unlikely partnerships, finding new solutions to old problems, and mobilizing the best resources, we inspire individuals to join the fight against our community’s most daunting social crises.
We are united by the belief that people want to help each other. By an understanding that health, education and financial stability are the cornerstones of a good life. And by a desire to come together —through giving, volunteering or public policy advocacy—to make life better for our neighbors.
