Chautauqua Blind Association, Inc.

CBA Vision Rehabilitation Services has been providing vision rehabilitation and orientation and mobility services to Chautauqua County residents since 1921.  We work with legally blind individuals in their home, their school or work location helping them to remain independent and successful. Individuals experiencing low vision are welcome to come by the office to meet with a Vision Rehabilitation Teacher to learn more about adaptive aids that can help with many areas of daily living.

Our Vision Rehabilitation Teachers work to set personal goals with each individual.  Goals will focus on daily living skills and school or work related issues. Adaptive techniques will be taught to assure independence, safety and success.  Our Orientation and Mobility Specialists work with the white cane, guide stick or seeing eye dogs to help individuals learn to maintain independent mobility in their environment.

CBA Vision Rehabilitation Services also performs vision screenings at all Preschools, Head Start and Pre-K programs throughout Chautauqua County.  This is offered as a free program, during this screening we are looking for eye problems that have gone undiagnosed.  Our goal is to catch eye disorders and get children further evaluation and treatment before they begin kindergarten.
