Who We Are
The Volunteer Center at HANCI provides volunteer opportunities through three AmeriCorps Seniors programs. Each program empowers adults age 55 and older to help make their community a better place to live by volunteering their time and effort in a variety of capacities.
- Senior Companion Program – Unites healthy seniors with homebound seniors who need the warmth and bond of a new friend. A Senior Companion can improve someone’s quality of life simply by being a friend. *Income-eligible volunteers receive a small, tax-free stipend
- Foster Grandparent Program – Gives seniors an opportunity to work with children in need. A Foster Grandparent can be a mentor, tutor, and role model to a child. In addition, program volunteers stay active and achieve the satisfaction of helping to shape the future. *Income-eligible volunteers receive a small, tax-free stipend
- Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) – Helps people 55 and older find volunteer opportunities to match their skills and interests. RSVP volunteers are stationed throughout schools, museums, healthcare facilities, community agencies, and government offices.
