Volunteer: Mentor for RAMP ProgramThe Refugee and Asylee Mentoring Program (RAMP) at Journey’s End Refugee Services serves refugees, asylees, and SIV holders between the ages of 18 to 24 who have lived in the US for less than 5 years by pairing them with mentors who can help them achieve their goals. We encourage people of any background to apply to be mentors, especially those who have been part of the refugee community. The RAMP program will host group events, workshops, and organize field trips that focus on community integration, academic support, career development, and health and financial literacy. The time commitment for mentors is 1 hour a week. We are looking for a minimum 9 month commitment to the program. The RAMP program will facilitate group events every week where mentors can complete their one hour. Mentors can also choose their own schedule that works for them and their mentee. Volunteer: Bus Orientation Guide (1:1)Bus Trainers work directly 1:1 with a newly-arrived refugee client to help them learn how to take public transportation in Buffalo and how to get from an assigned point A to point B. Lots of fun and a chance to get to know a new neighbor! Day, evening, or weekend hours possible. Orientation and background check required.
