Our building has undergone a lot of construction --- we would love our Day of Caring volunteers to help with cleaning and organizing; planting flowers & plants in our planters; and beautifying our garden.

Our Day of Caring team will help to paint the large gathering space where all of the activities occur for the senior adults.

The metal bathroom stalls need sanding on rusted areas and painting, as well.

 Help Grace House finish up preparations for spring!

Depending on the weather for the Day of Caring, the group may be working outside doing cleaning, planting, gardening, and landscaping.

If the weather is uncooperative, volunteers will be inside helping with room refreshes, which includes cleaning, patchwork, painting, and furnishing.

Our Day of Caring volunteers will help to clean oue patio furniture with soapy water, for all furniture on ground floor patios and balconies.

Our Day of Caring volunteers will spend a day with our residents: Craft, art, or visit 1:1 with residents.

Two volunteers on each side of the building, can use a gathering room or "neighborhood" (will make sense when you see the building) to do a project.

If doing 1:1 visits, can meet in the residents room, common room, or day room!

Little Portion Friary is in the midst of a renovation project.

Our Day of Caring volunteers will be painting the common use hallways on both the men's and women's side of the building, as well as the common area sitting rooms and dining rooms.

For this service project we are asking for volunteer who can help us prepare our grounds for our 6 week summer experience Dream Big!. This will entail grounds keeping work (clearing sticks/brush, weeding, etc.), carrying boxes/equipment from our attic storage to active program storage, assembling picnic tables and other equipment, inventory of supplies, and any other tasks that may arise based on the above preparations

By helping us refresh this important workspace, you’ll support the artists and craftspeople who build the world our young audiences experience on stage.

 We would like to host Day of Caring United Way volunteers at our Resource Center Garden, where we host our gardeners for meetings and use it as a hub for materials distribution for our network of 117 gardens.

Volunteers will help repair our farm stand, which was damaged this winter, so we can better distribute fresh produce to the Pratt-Willert neighborhood, and will also assist with general garden upkeep/repairs to support our elderly gardeners.

This will include basic construction with wood, gardening, weeding, trimming, and litter removal.

We have a number of projects for our Day of Caring volunteers!

You can choose that morning which of the three you would like to work on -- and you can also switch to another project during the day, if you'd like!

1.Catholic Academy of West Buffalo is being consolidated into Our Lady of Victory Elementary School, which will create an influx of students into the building.  The space needs to be cleaned, organized, reconfigured, and possibly painted to prepare for the new students.  OLV Elementary is on the OLV Charities campus.

2. St. Gianna Pregnancy Outreach Center is located within the 780 Ridge building and serves families by providing various supports; which includes clothing ranging from newborn through toddler sizes.  Volunteers are needed to assist in sorting, folding and matching clothing into outfits in order to be distributed to families in need.

3. OLV Charities plans and executes many events that raise funds that enable us to continue supporting the efforts of our mission partners.  Volunteers are needed to help organize and sort the holding space for all of the event materials and supplies to help create a more streamlined planning process.

Our project is an immersive obstacle course where youth navigate stations like mystery rooms, making choices that shape their path forward. Each station is designed to challenge and develop life skills ranging from critical thinking to mindfulness.

We are hosting a Free Haircutting and Simple Protective Braid Event.

We need need 5 barbers and hairstylists, and 1 person to offer braids. Barbers & Cosmetologists must hold a current respective NYS license.

We will need 2 volunteers to assist with taking names, directing guests, and sweeping hair.
