Overview: In just two seasons, the Buffalo Bills and United Way of Buffalo & Erie County and its volunteers has raised over $700,000 through the 50/50 raffle on game day with half of the net proceeds going to a winning fan, and the other half going to the United Way of Buffalo & Erie County to help fund programs and services in our community.
We are currently recruiting volunteers for the 50/50 program. Volunteers must be 18 years and older – no exceptions. Prior to the game, volunteers are provided with stadium credentials, stadium parking pass,?and information on the 50/50 program and what their volunteer role is for that day. Volunteers are asked to arrive to the stadium by 9:30 am in order to beat the traffic.
Volunteers are provided with a brief training on how to operate a handheld device that provides the 50/50 ticket, given bright pink aprons, and then sent out in Teams of 2 and 3 to pre-assigned locations in and around the stadium.
During the game, teams are stationed in various sections of the stadium, stadium concourse and club/suite areas. Volunteers rarely have to ask people to purchase a 50/50 ticket because the program has become so familiar with fans and they are now seeking out 50/50 volunteer sellers to buy tickets. Lunch is provided at kick-off, and volunteers and will sell tickets until the end of the 3rd quarter.
This is a great volunteer opportunity to help your community. This is also a fun event to do with friends and family. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Rema Hanash at the United Way at (716) 887-2614 or rema.hanash@uwbec.org and she will coordinate providing you with Buffalo Bills credentials and parking passes directly with you.
