The Beds for Buffalo project will build and furnish 150 twin beds for children in need by engaging community volunteers. The Service Collaborative of WNY will distribute completed beds through identified community partners that serve families surviving poverty. Volunteers will assist with the following tasks associated with transforming rough cut lumber into a complete product: sawing, planing, jointing, sanding, painting, assembling hardware and more!
TSC will provide the proper instruction, safety review and supervision to support the project. All personal safety devices, tools and equipment required for the project will be provided. TSC encourages all volunteers to dress accordingly (no loose clothing or open toe shoes) for a woodworking and manufacturing environment. All volunteers must be 18+ years of age and older. All projects will take place at The Foundry located at 298 Northampton St, Buffalo, NY 14208.
