The University of Rochester, Finger Lakes Regional Training Center (FLRTC) is looking for a few more volunteer victims to assist with a mass casualty exercise on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at the Erie County Fire Training Center (ECFTC), 3359 Broadway in Cheektowaga, NY. We will be ordering sheet pizzas and drinks for our volunteers.
Volunteers are needed from 11:30am – 4:30pm for the Mass Casualty Disaster Station. Weather permitting this afternoon session typically takes place outdoors. The indoor location will be the ECFTC Drill Tower. This station is set up to be a mock disaster with "victims" that the ADLS students triage or sort to determine priority of care. When you arrive at the facility, you will be given a complete orientation to the mock disaster site, the details of the scenario and your patient profile. The patient profile gives a brief description of your "injuries." Instructors will be available to provide more detailed explanation of those injuries and you may be asked to have make-up applied (moulage) to simulate specific injuries. This is a FUN scenario for our volunteers with a lot of opportunity to test out acting skills!
If you are not available to participate the entire afternoon, we will gladly accept volunteers from 11:30-2:15 OR 1:45-4:30.
Please contact the FLRTC (anne_dangelo@urmc.rochester.edu; eileen_spezio@urmc.rochester.edu) by noon on Monday, October 22 for any additional questions or concerns
