Position Overview:

We are seeking passionate and dedicated Volunteer Tutors to join the WNY Learning Lab team. As a tutor, you will provide one-on-one or small group academic support to students of various ages and educational backgrounds. Your role will be crucial in helping students improve their understanding of subject material, develop strong study habits, and build confidence in their academic abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide personalized tutoring sessions in subjects such as Math, Science, English, History, or other areas based on your expertise and student needs.

Assist students with homework, test preparation, and overall subject comprehension.

Develop tailored lesson plans and learning activities to meet individual student needs.

Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and adjusting teaching strategies as necessary.

Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.

Collaborate with WNY Learning Lab staff and other volunteers to share resources and best practices.

Participate in training and development sessions as required.

Qualifications:

Strong proficiency in one or more academic subjects.

Previous tutoring or teaching experience is preferred but not required.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping others learn and succeed.

Ability to commit to a regular tutoring schedule (e.g., weekly or bi-weekly sessions).

Reliable internet connection and computer (if tutoring remotely).
