Volunteer: Tool Librarian (Tooligan)

A Tool Librarian serves as the lending agent for The Tool Library; providing access to our tool inventory, signing up new members, finding needed tools, and checking items in and out appropriately.

Shifts are generally 2-3 hours long; Wednesday-Friday shifts are 2-5 PM or 5-7 PM and Saturday shifts are 10 AM-1 PM or 1-4 PM. We are seeking individuals who would be able to join us on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

A Tool Librarian is not required to have prior tool knowledge, as we believe The Tool Library is a great place to learn what you don't already know. That being said, we're looking for volunteers who have competency using Google Suites (Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc). Additionally, we work primarily out of a web-based software called MyTurn, and we provide both introductory training, as well as on-the-job training for this purpose.

Training is held once a month for new volunteers (4th/last Monday), is from 6-8 PM and there are light refreshments.

Are you a community-oriented people person with an interest in all things sharing, DIY, and neighborhood improvement? Join us and help keep our doors open and the tools moving.

Volunteer: Development Committee Member

We are currently seeking new members for our development committee. This is not a board position, but a great pathway to board membership, should you be interested.

The development committee develops and helps secure resources and philanthropic relationships for the long-term financial sustainability of the organization. The development committee is responsible for helping identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward funding sources, including donors and sponsorships, and developing a strategic calendar of fundraising opportunities, including The Tool Library’s annual Gather, Garden + Grow fundraiser. The development committee serves as an anchor for major gift fundraising, primarily solicited by the Board President and Executive Director.

Committee members with non-profit development experience or fundraising insight are encouraged.
