Stop by our New Volunteer Open House Sept 4th 4-8pm at 2365 George Urban Blvd.

Volunteers work one on one with dancers helping them learn the steps being taught by the instructor.
No dance experience needed, just a kind heart and patience!

It only takes one hour of your time, once a week to help one of our dancers. Volunteers must be 16 years of age and commit to at least one class a week from September - May. We are looking for volunteers for September through mid-May which culminates in an Annual Performance (always the Saturday of Mother's Day weekend).

We have high schoolers, college-age students, professionals, and retirees. Such a fun opportunity! You won't regret it. it will be the best part of your week!

Danceability, Inc., a non-profit dance studio for children and adults with special needs is looking for social media support to assist with management of social media channels. Opportunity can fulfill community service hours.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Help maintain social media calendar and create content for social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) Assist with analytic tracking of social media reach Help develop social media campaigns and manage Research best practices and current trends in social media

 

Requirements/Skills Needed:

Proficiency utilizing Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and/or LinkedIn platforms Experience using social media scheduling software like Hootsuite or TweetDeck Writing experience Organization and attention to detail Professionalism 

 

Training & Supervision:

Onsite (or virtual) orientation to become familiar with studio & current social media efforts  Reports to the Community Engagement Specialist

 

Time Commitment & Availability:

We are looking for a regular commitment of up to 5 hours per week from September - May Flexibility in timing of shifts, remote opportunity

Danceability, Inc., a non-profit dance studio for children and adults with special needs is looking for a volunteer graphic designer to assist with the creation of marketing materials, recital program and more. Opportunity can fulfill community service hours.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist in the creation of new marketing deliverables Adhere to danceability brand guidelines and complete projects according to deadline Design and produce flyers, table tents, large pull-up banners, etc... for events Design and produce the Annual Performance program book

 

Requirements/Skills Needed:

Familiarity and ownership of desired software preferred Strong creative and analytical skills Ability to meet deadlines and stay on track Organization and attention to detail

 

Training & Supervision:

Volunteers will be required to attend orientation to become familiar with the studio Reports to the Executive Director and Community Engagement Specialist

 

Time Commitment & Availability:

Schedule is flexible based on availability Busiest times include August, September, January, April (as needed)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Photograph classes and events throughout the dance season Photograph behind the scenes moments during rehearsals and Annual Performances  Photograph empty studio space for promotional materials Produce headshots for staff Editing, retouching and producing final files to be shared Brainstorm creative ways to showcase the studio and dancers through photography

 

Requirements/Skills Needed:

Familiarity and ownership of photography software Has photography equipment needed Strong creative and analytical skills Ability to meet deadlines and stay on track Organization and attention to detail

 

Training & Supervision:

Volunteers will be required to attend orientation to become familiar with the studio Reports to the Community Engagement Specialist

 

Time Commitment & Availability:

We are looking for a regular commitment of up to 5 hours per week from
September - June Schedule is flexible, but must be available evenings to photograph classes (classes typically run between 4pm - 8pm, Mondays - Thursdays)

What Do You Commit To?

Monthly Board Meetings (in-person or virtual) for 2 hours on a Monday evening. Participation on one of our Committees, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Grant Writing, meeting as scheduled Helping to achieve our current strategic plan, including helping us to be a place where dancers, families, volunteers, and Board Members of diverse backgrounds want to be Attending our fundraisers and special events and committing yourself to help our Annual Performance be the magic it is to our dancers and their families and friends. You do NOT need to be a dancer (most of us are not), nor have a family member with special needs (only a few of us do) – but you do need to see the beauty in what we collectively achieve. You probably contribute to organizations today; we would like danceability to be one of your top three, whatever that amount is consistent with your means. And help us fill baskets for raffles!

Danceability is seeking a fill-in front desk greeter to sub in when our Evening Assistant is unable to be there. Duties include:

*Welcome & assist dancers with special needs entering and exiting dance class

*Assist families with questions and concerns

*Take class attendance

*Assist instructors when need

*Answer phones

*Light cleaning and organization

*Clothing sales

*Miscellaneous jobs

*Flexible schedule - Mon., Tues, Wed or Thurs.
