Volunteer: Clothes Closet VolunteersClothes Closet Volunteers needed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers will be sorting through clothing and household items for suitability, then placing them in our “closet” for people to select. CMI is very fortunate in the amount of donations we receive. On Wednesdays, a new drop off donation program has been instituted from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. During this time, volunteers would be accepting items from donors who drive up to the Mission and drop off their donations. Persons satisfying this shift would be taking items out of donor’s cars, and bringing them into our repository room to be sorted at a later time. Because of the way we are accepting donations, contact is at a minimum, limiting exposure. Currently, the shift is heavy from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. but we are anticipating it to become busier from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. as commuters learn about this opportunity. It would be ideal for students needing volunteer hours and currently in hybrid or remote learning as they can bring their homework to work on. Must be able to lift 40 pounds and perform bending and up and down movement repeatedly. Due to our strict adherence to Covid-19 mandated guidelines, volunteers will sign in daily, answer a series of questions, have their temperature checked and wear a mask the entire time they are on the Community Missions campus.
