Volunteer: Community Action Angels Volunteer

Supports the Community Operations team by working together to develop and implement special projects and programs which complement the talents of our volunteers and ensures that the valuable time and resources given to agency programs have the greatest impact possible on the individuals, families and communities we all are committed to serve.

Location:  Throughout Allegany County. Main office is located in Belmont and the CAA program warehouse in Allentown.

Key responsibilities:  Enhance the agency’s image and visibility by serving as a spokesperson to promote agency-wide volunteer opportunities and/or deliver community presentations. Participate in seasonal projects by supporting fundraising, packaging, sorting delivering, communicating mission, and coordinating volunteer efforts. Facilitate pick ups and deliveries at the Allentown Warehouse. Support the Community Operations Manager with volunteer recruiting and training, and support agency volunteer activities.  

Qualifications:

Experience working with individuals and families, through either educational experiences, volunteer roles or past work experiences. Desire to support, and ability to demonstrate, an understanding and agreement with the agency vision, mission and project goals. Ability to communicate well in a wide variety of situations. Ability to maintain confidentiality and treat colleagues, staff and program participants with respect. Ability to accurately assess a wide variety of situations, determining appropriate course(s) of action. Ability to accept supervision.

The Head Start Program is an early childhood and preschool program for income-eligible families of children birth to five years old. There are currently seven Early Head Start/Head Start Centers located in Cuba, Friendship, Belfast, Bolivar, Belmont and Wellsville, including a center in the Wellsville Elementary School.
