Green Entrepreneurial Center

The Community Action Organization's Urban farm was created out of federal stimulus money to produce fresh healthy food, and create jobs for the people of Erie County. So far, the GEC has helped develop eight farms in Erie County. Our farms create training in agriculture, aquaculture, composting, business management, and marketing to allow people to run a business and create new jobs. We have also partnered with AmeriCorps VISTA to bring salad bars, green classes, nutrition education and students mentoring programs to underserved schools in Buffalo. "Students Understanding Nutrition" or SUN would like to improve the overall health, well being and education for students in underserved schools while stimulating economic growth and revitalizing low-income neighborhoods.?
