Seneca Street Community Development Corporation

Who We Are

The Seneca Street Community Development Corporation (Seneca Street CDC) partners with our neighbors in the Seneca Babcock community to provide a supportive environment to overcome educational, social and economic barriers. We provide opportunities for the entire community to acquire skills that build resiliency, self-reliance, and confidence, enhancing the quality of life and potential for current and future generations in our neighborhood.

What We Do

Seneca Street CDC programming offers a place for children and youth in the Seneca Babcock neighborhood to learn and grow in a safe, nurturing, productive environment.

During the school year, Seneca Street CDC offers the Afterschool @ Seneca Street Program for students K-8 and the Teen Program for high school students. Both programs run Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday, with the Afterschool @ Seneca Street Program running from 3:00-6pm and the Teen Program Mon-Fri from 3:00-6pm. The Afterschool program provides participants with homework help and enrichment activities all geared towards learning, exploration, and exposure. Weekly Enrichment Options include Boys on the Right Track, Girls on the Run, Academic Games, Computer Lab, Cooking, Arts and Crafts.  Both programs provide students with a hot, homemade dinner.

During the summer months the CDC offers our summer program, Summer @ Seneca Street for kids K-8. Each week has a theme, including enrichment activities and field trips. Teens are involved as well in Mayor Summer Youth, a city-wide program in which teens act as leaders in the community to make a positive impact.

For community outreach, the CDC offers a variety of programs to benefit the members of the Seneca Babcock community, including free programming and participation in our Seneca Street Community Garden.

We are looking for volunteers who want to make a genuine impact on the lives of children and families. We are seeking those who are able to provide homework help and/or assist with weekly enrichment options, who are able to give our community members positive support and guidance.
