Community Action Organization of Erie County, Inc.

The Community Action Organization of Erie County, Inc. (CAO) is a 501C3 agency who for the past 51 years has served the Western New York community. Its mission is to promote opportunities for low-income individuals, families, and communities to achieve and sustain self-sufficiency through advocacy, partnerships, access to services, and low-to-moderate income housing developments.

We successfully operate over 50 children and family programs which include, crisis and emergency services, food, clothing baby needs and personal item pantries, disaster preparedness training,  neighborhood services, block club development, financial literacy training, free tax preparation assistance, employment and training, housing and development, drug treatment, counseling and research, GED programs, tutoring, after school programs, mentoring programs, computer literacy,  community technology programs and services.
