To create a sense of place, improve quality of life, and restore economic vitality, and increase inclusiveness and wealth in the Broadway-Fillmore and Martin Luther King neighborhoods through grassroots organizing and public-private partnerships.

Partnering with local businesses, residents, and community organizations to produce thriving commercial and public spaces that are safe, attractive, create jobs, foster community pride, and act as a catalyst for further commercial and mixed-use development.

Fillmore Forward is a community-based, volunteer driven organization dedicated to revitalizing the commercial centers of the Broadway-Fillmore and Martin Luther King neighborhoods.

One of the oldest communities in the city is the Broadway-Fillmore neighborhood, a once booming commercial district historically known as Buffalo’s second downtown. The neighborhood retains the richness of its Polish heritage and its African American culture while welcoming new immigrant groups that bring their unique traditions and cultures to the community.

By partnering with local businesses, residents, and community organizations, it is Fillmore Forward’s hope to produce thriving businesses and public spaces that are safe, attractive, foster community pride, provide jobs and act as a catalyst for further commercial and mixed-use development.
