Big Big Table Community Café

Big Big Table Community Café is WNY’s first pay-as-you-can restaurant.  Our mission is to provide a dignified response to food insecurity in our community by offering accessible, affordable, and nutritious meals, regardless of ability to pay.  

Our distinctive participation-based model provides diverse options for our guests to choose from in exchange for their meals. Whether opting for a monetary donation, assisting with a café task, or donating fresh produce or pantry items, each person is free to decide how it is best for them to meaningfully contribute.  This approach not only enables us to offer our neighbors healthy and hearty meals, but also strengthens our culture of inclusivity, nurturing a profound sense of community and empowerment. 

We currently serve lunch Tuesday-Friday, with two volunteer shifts available on those days: 10am-12:30pm and 12:30pm-3pm.  Volunteer responsibilities may include: light cleaning, dishwashing, organizing, taking orders at the register and serving our guests.  Morning shift volunteers help to ready the café for opening, and afternoon volunteers prepare the café for closing.  Most importantly, volunteers are integral in making the café a warm and welcoming space for all of our guests.
