Who We Are

The Bits and Bytes STEM Foundation provides equitable access to high-quality STEM learning for underserved youth—especially girls, and BIPOC youth —by addressing racial and gender disparities and partnering with schools and community organizations to create meaningful opportunities.

What We Do

The Bits and Bytes STEM project is a transformative, traveling initiative offering hands-on STEM (science, technology, engineering, math, and computer science) experiences for students in grades PreK-12. Active in schools, afterschool settings, summer programs, and community centers, the program uses evidence-based curricula aligned with New York State Education Department (NYSED) learning standards for computer science and digital literacy. Launched as a pilot in 2023 as Bits and Bytes STEM Project by Families Aimed Toward Excellence FATE. The program prioritizes education, empowerment, and equity by reducing travel and cost barriers for students with a priority for out-of-school time. Key Program Features Hands-On Learning: Engaging, interactive activities that emphasize problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration. Equity and Access: Focused on bridging the digital divide for city core and rural students and families. Family Inclusion: Promoting digital fluency for students and their families to foster shared learning and community growth. Flexible Delivery: Programs designed for PreK-12 students, adaptable to both in-school and out-of-school settings.
