The United-Community Action Network is a group of volunteers in cities across New York State who serve New York State Courts by being a volunteer mentor for a young adult facing criminal charges. We also have community partners like the YMCA that allow our matches free access to their facilities for their weekly meet up.
What We Do
We recruit, screen, train, match, and support volunteers who agree to serve as a mentor for one year. Our mentors support young people during a one-year probation term that will allow the young person to have their charges dropped or reduced. Mentors meet for coffee or at a gym once per week for the year.
