Who We Are
The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum is a premier national historic site that fosters an appreciation for the unique heritage of the carousel, band organ, and amusement device industries on the Niagara Frontier for people of all ages. Through educational, cultural, and recreational programming, visitors will experience the places, people, stories, and artifacts associated with the production of carousels, band organs and amusement devices on the Niagara Frontier.
The Carrousel Museum is housed in the original Allan Herschell Co. factory building. It presents demonstrations and exhibits which interpret this history, has two operating antique carousels, a Children's Gallery for hands-on learning activities and a wonderful gift shop. Special events are presented monthly and include Superhero Day, Victorian Tea, Spooktacular, and Christmas on the Carrousel.
What We Do
The Carrousel Museum presents exhibits that interpret the historic factory building. It also presents classes, demonstrations and Carrousel Chats about the production of a carousel. Family events are presented nearly each month, as well as family activities daily in the Children's Gallery. Two antique carousels operate whenever the museum is open. Plus 4 restored Kiddie rides operate during the summer season in the outdoor Kiddieland.
