Buffalo Prep

Buffalo Prep's mission is to provide access and preparation for talented underrepresented youth to achieve success in college preparatory high schools and higher education.  We’re not a school, but rather, a dedicated organization that works with private, public, and charter high schools to help disadvantaged youth take advantage of a first-rate college-preparatory education. Since our founding in 1989, Buffalo Prep has been helping to close the achievement gap for Western New York kids who are bright, talented, but economically disadvantaged. We nurture the dreamer, the leader, the activist, and the scholar in every student, while strengthening the diversity of our partner schools.

Buffalo Prep invites children with top academic promise to participate in a highly personalized educational program that will guide, nurture and prepare them as they strive to make the most of their education.  Many students begin Buffalo Prep’s rigorous program in fifth grade and commit their summers, evenings and weekends to prepare for higher achievement. Students who take advantage of Buffalo Prep’s pipeline of services will spend more than 7 years with Buffalo Prep staff and their peers in accelerated academic pursuits.  

Buffalo Prep has four summer and after-school enrichment programs to help students excel in school and beyond: Middle School Prep (post -5th to post- 7th grade), High School Prep (post -7th to post -8th grade), College Prep & Rising to Distinction (9th-12th grade).
