Who We Are

The Latin American Cultural Association builds community through arts, education  and cultural programming.  Using the arts as a vehicle to inspire cross cultural understanding.   LACA makes the rich cultural heritage of the Americas accessible to the Western New  York community through our fair trade  store front  "  EL BUEN AMIGO " AND UNIQUE LATIN AMERICAN ORGANIZATION.       El Buen Amigo works to promote human rights and justice for our Brothers and Sisters in Central, Caribe and South America.   By providing them with an outlet for their artisan goods, we help achieve more fair and sustainable lives for them and their families in countries where economies are sagging, unemployment is high and vocational opportunities are few.   LACA and  EL BUEN AMIGO enhances human dignity by encouraging the expression of culture through the arts.   Histories and Culture  are preserved and shared between North American and the skilled crafts people of the Latino countries.   EL BUEN AMIGO  and  LACA  creates understanding and appreciation of  Latino culture and encourage knowledge of present day conditions, thereby forging bonds of solidarity among all people of both hemispheres.      WE helps to preserve the arts and crafts of Maya, Inca and other indigenous communities that  want and need to maintain theirs traditional ways, artistic integrity and vocational independence.    You may see and purchase their handmade goods in our store front  EL BUEN AMIGO
