February is Black History Month and to celebrate, the UHAA will partner with the Niagara Power Vista to offer a community exhibition of art that celebrates the lives of figures in Black History.
Join us on Saturday, February 24th to assist visitors with making art to contribute to this exhibition as well as to take home with them.
The event at the Niagara Power Vista will include live entertainment, Black History informational exhibits throughout the Power Vista, plus this opportunity through the University Heights Arts Association, which will result in an exhibit/mural which will be shown at the Power Vista throughout the month of March. The event is free and open to the general public.
EVENT: “Portraits in Black History 2018”
DATE: Saturday, February 24, 2018
TIME: 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Niagara Power Vista, 5777 Lewiston Road, Lewiston, NYb 14092.
Volunteers will be needed to:
1) Set up our six table booth area.
2) Assist visitors with art and craft projects (skill welcome but not needed)
3) Clean up and package our booth at the end of the event.
COMPANY MISSION: The mission of the University Heights Arts Association is to provide
accessible, free art programs to artists and enthusiasts of all ages through the use of
available spaces and recycled materials.
DONATIONS: Do you have materials to donate? They will be graciously accepted.
-paper -colored pencils -crayons -pastels -staples -clay
-paints (watercolor, acrylic, poster) -gardening seeds (if harvested or bought within a year)
-envelopes ( 6 in. X 9 in. And 2 in. X 4 in.). -miscellaneous art or craft supplies
