Book, Blanket, and Buddy Kit Packaging

The 9-11 National Day of Service is just around the corner- Help us help children in our community

Children who experience traumatic events such as fires, car accidents, or injuries, need special support from trusted adults, especially emergency responders.  Community Action Angels, an innovative program of ACCORD Corporation, has created the Book, Blanket and Buddy kit for first responders to distribute to young children who are in the midst of a traumatic event.  Helping to calm and sooth them, or perhaps simply draw their attention to something other than what's worrying them, each kit contains an age appropriate book, a stuffed animal and a small blanket.  Volunteers are needed to assist in packaging these materials to distribute to various emergency crews and volunteer fire departments throughout Allegany County. Donations are gratefully accepted, but at this work event, materials will be provided.  Thanks for your interest in helping us to help a child in need!
