The Beds for Buffalo project will build and furnish 100 twin beds for children in need by engaging community volunteers. The Service Collaborative of WNY will distribute completed beds through identified community partners that serve families surviving poverty. Volunteers will assist with the following tasks associated with this stage of the project: sawing, jointing, planing, sanding, painting, installing hardware, and much more. If you would like to volunteer, please register and we will confirm your participation. No need to worry if you're not familiar with the woodworking process or tools involved. We will provide the proper supervision, safety review, and tutorials. Even if you can only volunteer for a few hours, your time and talent is greatly appreciated. All volunteers must be 18+ years of age. Snacks, soda, and water will be provided. Please dress accordingly for a wood working and manufacturing environment. All projects will take place at The Foundry located at 298 Northampton St, Buffalo, NY 14208.
