The Evergreen Mobile Food Pantry (from the Food Bank of WNY) arrives at the Evergreen Commons (67 Prospect Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14201) parking lot on the third Thursday of each month. This mobile pantry distributes an average of 4,000-5,000 pounds of perishable foods like fruit, vegetables, dairy products, etc. for about 100 of our clients and community members.
We are looking for 8 volunteers each month to help with set up, food distribution and clean up.
The Mobile Food Pantry truck dates for the second half of 2018 are:
- Tuesday, June 12th from 1-3pm
- Thursday, July 19 from 12:30-2:30pm
- Thursday, August 16 from 12:30-2:30pm
- Thursday. September 20 from 12:30-2:30pm
- Thursday, October 18 from 12:30-2:30pm (no truck in November or December)
*Please note that this event occurs outside each month and volunteers must be able to work outside in all weather conditions. In addition, volunteer must be able to lift 50 pounds. Good customer service is essential to the role. Volunteers will also need to complete a Volunteer Application and two brief online trainings prior to starting their role.
