Description

Volunteers needed through October 2021.

The Gardens of Compassion is a unique community garden. We grow vegetables and herbs for use in the Community Soup Kitchen at Community Missions in Niagara Falls, Little Wonders Early Childhood Education Center and Day Care, and of course for our gardeners as well. The Gardens of Compassion are also focused on reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness and exploring our common responsibility to care for creation.

Volunteers are need to help are for the gardens as follows:

Monday is our Group Gardening Day: 10:00 AM - Noon. Come and join volunteers from Community Missions' mental health programs. Group garden day includes gardening time, gardening education, nutrition education, cooking demos, discussion about caring for creation from various cultural perspectives. Rain or shine. No gardening on Holidays.

Weekly Garden Care: Any Time!  We need volunteer gardeners through out the growing season to water and weed the gardens. Gardeners are welcome to come at any time that is convenient for them. However, they must first contact Rev. Mark Breese at mbreese@communitymissions.org  or 716-285-3403 ext 2259.
