Description:
-Greet guests as they enter the exhibit space and provide instruction on proper touchpool protocols.
-Organize guests in exhibit space and optimize opportunities for animal interaction.
-Provide animal information and educational content; develop ability to present information during a formal feeding presentation.
-Oversight of the species within the touchpool, assess their well-being, and communicate any concerns to our education staff or aquarists.
-Provide guests with general information regarding our facility and programming.
-Organize and maintain a clean workspace.
-Direct guests to exhibits, restrooms, and other areas of the building.
Qualifications:
-Enthusiasm for aquatic life!
-Responsible and dedicated.
-Able to be on feet for at least 4 hours a day.
-Willing to work in outdoor conditions.
-Must volunteer for at least one special event.
-Possesses excellent communication, public speaking and customer service skills.
-Second language not required, but highly desirable.
-This position does involve some direct animal contact.
Directions:
-Mandatory orientation with our Education department.
-Ages 14 and up.
-Willing to meet minimum time commitment of 4 hours per week for 6 months -OR- 8 hours per week for 3 months.
