The Food Justice Tour will provide accessible resources to the communities experiencing
health disparities. The tour has been formulated after extensive research carried out using the
primary data available about the Western New York region that has been at the receiving end
of health and wealth disparities which are further worsened by lack of funding and policies to
address these problems, which the tour will cater through a collaborative, culturally sensitive,
data-driven approach to addressing Social Determinants of Health (S.D.O.H.) in underserved
groups, with a focus on the BIPOC community. Additionally, it will organize a food market,
cooking demonstrations, health screenings, and information about community resources
(mental health, social supports, workforce opportunities.) The first event will be October 29th 12 p.m.-5 p.m. at the Northland Workforce Training Center 683 Northland Avenue, Buffalo, NY, 14211.
