Who We Are
Kaleida Health operates two long-term care facilities: HighPointe on Michigan in Buffalo and DeGraff Skilled Nursing Facility in North Tonawanda.
HighPointe on Michigan is a 300-bed facility located directly next to the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. HighPointe provides varying levels of care for both the adult and pediatric population, including ventilator-dependent or medically complex care, subacute care, dementia care, and traditional long-term care.
DeGraff Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Facility is an 80-bed facility offering both subacute and traditional long-term care. Residents receive expert care and personal attention in comfortable, home-like surroundings. In both facilities, individual plans of care are developed by a professional team to meet the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of each resident.
What We Do
We are seeking compassionate and reliable volunteers aged 15+ to serve on an ongoing basis at Kaleida Health's two long-term care facilities. Volunteers make a huge difference to the residents and staff in these facilities. Volunteers can expect to work with the Activities Department to improve residents' social stimulation and help them have fun! This is an excellent opportunity for retirees looking to give back, get more engaged, or share their knowledge with the community. It's also great for students who are considering a career in the medical field or those looking for service-learning hours. We ask that volunteers be willing to commit to weekly or bi-monthly shifts for at least one school semester (for students), or six-month period.
