Who We Are
For over 40 years, the Willie Hutch Jones Educational and Sports Program (WHJESP) has been dedicated to empowering under-served youth through free programs and foundational instruction in sports, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), and wellness. WHJESP helps students build confidence, achieve academic success, and develop lifelong skills both on and off the field.
What We Do
The WHJESP provides SACC-certified before- and after-school care for children ages 3-8 at Maryvale Primary School throughout the academic year, along with nearly a dozen youth sports clinics, leagues, and extracurricular activities. Offerings include basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer, tennis, crew rowing, and chess. Additionally, our annual STEAM Fair, open to students in grades 3 through 12, is one of the largest in the region, promoting innovation, creativity, and academic achievement.
